Dave Nevison's top tips for Wednesday: Brassica the banker at Redcar

Lydiate Lady is from a specialist sprint stable that has hit form recently and she showed that she will soon be winning at Hamilton on Sunday when she was run out of things close home by a hitherto 26-race maiden.

The seven-year-old has tumbled down the weights but has shown already this season that she can lead a field of 0-85 handicappers. It would be wrong to say she came back to her best, but I am hopeful that the perfectly flat Redcar track - where she has won before - will suit her better than the very stiff climb at Hamilton.

She does act on heavy ground, so if a huge amount of rain arrives, I will not be worried, but I would prefer it to remain good.

Looks the banker on the Redcar card being a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver who brings Listed form to a handicap.

The reappearance effort at Yarmouth behind a triple Listed winner, Fanny Logan, certainly suggested that she will win races towards the end of the season.

Brassica turning out quickly is the only slight concern I have, but she gets the trip and her dam acted on soft ground so if the going changes, I would not be concerned.

This is a magnificent looking young chaser who is on a roll. He has gone up in grade for all three of his recent runs but continues to progress and Nigel Twiston-Davies has sent some of his best younger horses up to Perth for several seasons. This could be one of the best.

I believe he will improve even further for this modest step up in distance and could be one to note at the early meetings at Cheltenham after this.
