Dave Nevison's Thursday tips: Prissy Missy can strike for Menzies

The Racing TV betting expert has a couple of fancies for the card at Catterick Bridge on Thursday, including John Quinn's Our Dave, who wouldn't mind a drop of rain overnight.

After a couple of near-misses of late, Rebecca Menzies broke her duck since the resumption when Barney Bullet scored at Musselburgh on Wednesday and I'm hoping for more success from the stable here.
She looks to have a solid chance with this filly who is up against largely exposed horses, many of which appear well on the downgrade.
Prissy Missy was tried in cheekpieces when dropped down to this trip last time and they certainly seemed to sharpen her up as she ran an excellent race to be third, staying on very nicely at the line.
The race looks set to be run at a fair pace so the draw in stall 12 might not be an inconvenience as they should be strung out and hopefully Prissy Missy might be able to pick them off in the straight.

Rain overnight would definitely improve this one's chances and looking at the forecast, that's very much a possibility.
His only win came over this course and distance last season but he signalled he is capable of another success in this sort of grade last time. Beaten by Little Ted there, that form looks better after that one scored at Musselburgh on Tuesday.
He is drawn on the inside, which will be handy as it is highly likely he will want to lead or at least be very prominent over this trip.

Having moved from one excellent trainer to another, I am sure Mick Appleby will be very keen to get a win quickly after getting him from Dr Newland. He looks to have every chance of doing so here judged on his latest excellent effort.
It did not make a difference to the result, but it didn’t help when he was carried left close home at Haydock. He runs off the same mark here, 3lb lower than his future mark having been reassessed by the handicapper.
There are very few in this field who have shown anything at all recently and though he will be short for this I will be very disappointed if he cannot win.
