Our pundit Dave Nevison struck with a 10/3 winner on Tuesday and believes three contenders are worth a second look at Newmarket and Kempton on Wednesday. Enjoy further action from Navan and dedicated coverage from all three meetings via Racing TV Extra.

3.50 Newmarket: Random Harvest

She gets the vote after a really good comeback run when third to Barshaa at Kempton.

This is a really competitive fillies’ handicap for this time of year and Random Harvest is one of a few who have clearly had training issues, but she may well have a real future if kept sound and fit.

Random Harvest was very well-backed at Kempton - which makes me believe connections think she is well over what has kept her off the track until the back-end – and William Buick is still riding brilliantly this season even if he narrowly lost out in the title race. Ed Walker’s team have been pretty much in top form all year.

7.30 Kempton: Shoot To Kill

He will certainly get the strong pace he wants in this competitive field and can go one better than his narrow defeat last time.

The biggest challenge for Shoot To Kill may well be getting through this field, but he is always held up off the pace and those tactics almost came off over course and distance last week.

He’s back down 4lb in the weights since his Nottingham win in July and, although 2lb above his highest-winning mark, he has run several good races off this rating and higher. It seems the pace of the race is the more important factor for him and things should fall favourably here.

8.00 Kempton: Blissful Song

She won in very good style last time on her final start for Ollie Pears and definitely has the look of one that can go places from this mark now that she has moved to Mick Appleby.

Blissful Song has won on the all-weather (albeit Southwell) and should have no problem with this surface. Theodore Ladd seems to be riding most of Appleby’s all-weather runners and is definitely worth his 3lb allowance.

Given this is her stable debut, a market move may well be significant for this filly - in either direction. But whatever happens here, I expect Blissful Song to pay her way this autumn.
