Betting expert Dave Nevison has three selections to ponder at Ayr on Tuesday. Watch how they fare live on Racing TV.
1.45 Ayr: Lone Star
Came up against a rapidly improving rival last time in David Pipe’s Barrier Peaks, who has since won again.
She runs off the same mark here and there doesn’t look to be a similar preoressive rival up against her in this field. Jockey Joe Williamson won on her on her penultimate start, so she holds obvious claims.
2.15 Ayr: Broomfields Kan
Is consistent at a low level and often runs from out of the weights given how low his official mark. He is only 1lb wrong to today, so has his best chance for a while. He was staying on one-paced over a trip too short last time out and he will benefit from this step back up in trip. He is a longstanding maiden so a small each way might be the best ploy.
3.55 Ayr: Jet Legs
Seems to have run himself into form over this winter and could be poised to strike and break his maiden here.
His improved effort at Wetherby last time has seen him go up 3lb in the weights but he ran well and might find the home straight at Ayr less punishing than Wetherby, where he faded only after the last.
Martin Todhunter has not run many this year but has been among the winners, so a good run looks very likely in a race where there are few potential improvers.
