Wednesday tips: Dave Nevison seeks more riches after 14/1 winner

Betting expert Dave Nevison struck with Count D'Orsay (14-1) on Tuesday and is hoping for a fruitful half-hour or so on Wednesday, with two tips at Nottingham and another at Fakenham. Watch how they all fare on Racing TV.

3.38 Nottingham: Collusion

Collusion’s dam won a Listed event on heavy ground on her final run and it looks like her son, Collusion, has inherited her ability to act on testing going.
Collusion was making his first appearance in a handicap last time out, on his first run for eight months, and took well to racing on very soft turf.
He outran his double-figure odds and the James Tate three-year-old certainly looks capable of winning a race off the same mark on Wednesday.
The only concern is the swift turnaround after such an absence. But against exposed opposition, I think it is a risk worth taking.

3.50 Fakenham: Catboy

Christian Williams sends this 85-rated hurdler as part of a six-strong team from his base in Wales, and Catboy looks like he can contribute something towards the diesel bill.
He has taken his time to get the hang of being a hurdler but won a novices’ handicap at Fontwell on his penultimate start and followed up with an excellent second last time out in a competitive 15-runner event at Exeter.
He runs off the same mark again here but will be higher from next week, so hopefully he can capitalise in a modest event.

4.08 Nottingham: Dogged

I think Dogged is at his best over this 10f trip and will appreciate being stepped back up two furlongs.
He ran well enough over a mile at Musselburgh  last time, running on well to be third, but the sharper track/better ground probably conspired against him – in addition to the shorter trip.
Rebecca Menzies’ gelding won three amateur riders’ handicaps last season, including one over this course and distance, and is now 7lb lower than for his latest win.
Judging by his recent efforts, he is handicapped well enough to score again before the season ends. Becky Smith is a top rider in this field and keeps the ride.
