Brametot still in Arc picture

Brametot has not been ruled out of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe but plans remain fluid for the colt.

Winner of the French Guineas and Derby, he was sent off a short price to extend his winning run in the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano at Deauville last month but was never competitive behind Eminent.

Slowly away from the stalls, he struggled to pass his pacemaker and clearly did not give his true running.

"He came back very sore and stiff all over," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for part-owners Al Shaqab Racing.

"He's being given a proper once-over and Jean-Claude (Rouget) wants him spot-on before he commits to any plan.

"I felt he moved badly to post and maybe he tweaked something jumping off because he certainly didn't want to jump off leaving the stalls.

"He never looked comfortable at any stage so maybe he did it before the actual race.

"The Arc hasn't been ruled out, though."

Brametot is a best-priced 16-1 for the Qatar-backed European showpiece.
