The Bluestocking team were celebrating in Paris Bluestocking won the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at rain-soaked Longchamp on Sunday.
The well-backed four-year-old, trained by Ralph Beckett and ridden by Rossa Ryan, was always prominent in the famous Juddmonte silks and powered to victory ahead of Aventure in what was a replay of the finish in last month's Prix Vermeille.
Not originally entered for the showpiece, Bluestocking was supplemented for 120,000 euros on Wednesday, and was one of only two British-trained runners. She was sent off at 5/1, having been 11/1 on the morning of the race.
Los Angeles, the Irish Derby winner, made much of the running under Ran Moore before fading to finish third. Sosie, the 100/30 favourite, seeking to give trainer Andre Fabre a ninth Arc triumph, was fourth.
Japan's big hope, Shin Emperor, was unable to make an impact. Neither was Al Riffa, ridden by Yutaka Take.
There had been drama before the race when the connections of German challenger Fantastic Moon tweeted he would not run because of the testing conditions.
But they changed their minds after being told by the stewards they would face a 55,000 euro fine if they pulled him out.
