Angus McNae's Sunday tips: best bets at the Curragh, Stratford and Redcar

Angus McNae was in top form last week with three winners from four selections (his other tip finished second) and has four fancies across Stratford, Redcar and the Curragh on Sunday, live on Racing TV.

3.30 Stratford: Finest View

This mare is on a roll having won her past three starts and has not finished improving yet. She won at this track with the minimum of fuss last time out off a rating of 124 and gets to race off just a pound higher here.
She impressed that day with how quickly and smoothly she made up her ground, and her jumping was sound overall, bar a peck at the last. It is interesting that trainer Alan King has decided to keep her on the go after her recent wins, and his faith looks like being repaid.

3.40 Curragh: Diego Velazquez

Diego Velazquez was a disappointment in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot but he also ran poorly there last year before bouncing back in lesser company, and I expect him to do the same and return to form on Sunday.
He drops back to seven furlongs now, the trip which he won over on debut, and I expect Ryan Moore to make plenty of use of him at a track that suits prominent racers.
He won a Group Two and a Group Three after his Ascot flop last year, and he can add to that again.

4.00 Redcar: Penfolds Grange

From a wide draw in stall 15, Penfolds Grange ran a big race to finish third at Chester last time out. That improved effort came in a first-time tongue tie, which is retained here, and cheekpieces are added to sharpen him up.
He has only had five starts and is open to plenty of improvement for Harry Eustace, who is having  a good season. He looks like a decent play against the Sir Mark Prescott-trained favourite.

4.50 Curragh: Light As Air

Light As Air will be ridden by Ryan Moore for the first time here and can shed his maiden tag after not having the best of luck in the King George V Stakes when finishing 12th. He was set an impossible task that day, racing a long way off the pace, but was only beaten nine lengths.
A repeat of that level of form should enable him to take this race in his stride, and he has the experience of running in three handicaps, which may tell over his rivals in this maiden.
