Angus McNae: Sunday tips including Sky Bet Sunday Series

There is plenty of good action this Sunday with another leg of the Sky Bet Sunday Series taking place at . I have three selections on the card plus another at

2.00 Fakenham: Cannon Rock

Harry Cobden goes to Fakenham for just one ride, on Cannon Rock, and the hint should be taken.
This horse is making his debut over hurdles for James Owen and given he was decent 12-furlong handicapper on the Flat he could be a useful recruit to this discipline at this time of year. He comes here in good form after finishing second in a handicap at Kempton off a mark of 86 and, provided his jumping holds up, he will be hard to beat under the champion jockey.

4.40 Hamilton: Too Friendly

There is more to come from this stayer to judge by a luckless second place at Newmarket last time out. He was a heavily supported favourite that day and just about everything that could go wrong did.
The pace was tepid and he was a bit keen and poorly positioned. When he wanted to make headway, he was hampered and found plenty of trouble in running. That he was only beaten half a length is testament to his ability and he can make amends.

5.10 Hamilton: American Affair

This is a well-handicapped sprinter who is on the up. He was impressive when winning at Musselburgh last time off a mark of 70 and, despite a 10lb in the weights, still looks well treated.
American Affair travelled strongly at Mussleburgh before readily pulling clear of his rivals. He takes a step up in grade here but that will not be a problem for this upwardly mobile sprinter.

5.40 Hamilton: Warda Jamila

This filly has won two of her four starts and the manner of her success last time out at Ascot suggests that there could be more improvement to come.
That win came on her first start in a handicap off a mark of 80 and an 8lb rise should be no bar to another success.
She is a half-sister to the very useful Coltrane, who has got better with age and racing, and it could be the same with this filly, who finds herself in a race that will not take much winning. She can strike for the Andrew Balding team.
