Left-handed, sharp track. Although tight in nature, Uttoxeter Racecourse has a reputation for gruelling conditions during the winter, with the ability to see out the trip being of paramount importance. When the going is on the firm side it often pays to race prominently, especially on the chase course.
The fences are no more than average in terms of stiffness, and many fallers occur as a result of fatigue in the latter stages. In recent seasons, the number of flights on the hurdles track in races over 2m has been reduced from 10 to nine.
