Top tipster Dave Nevison has a trio of selections across the meetings of Pontefract and Kempton Park on Wednesday, with every race live on Racing TV.
4.15 Pontefract: Great
This Sam England-trained four-year-old seems to have got over his habit of starting very slowly in recent runs and has been running very creditably while not enjoying much luck in running.
He took well to the drop down to the minimum trip on his penultimate start and he could be ideally placed in what is set to be a strongly run race over the stiff five furlongs at Pontefract.
4.45 Pontefract: Alfa Whiteburd
This is a very competitive 0-80 handicap with three runners looking for a hat-trick and I am hoping Alfa Whiteburd can land his third race in a month off a 7lb higher mark than last time out.
He is no stranger to a mark in the 80s and won off this mark on the all-weather in 2024, and given he is in the best form he has been for while, he should still go well.
It seems likely Jason Hart, who won on one of his main rivals last time, will have had the pick of rides and has chosen Alfa Whiteburd which is also encouraging.
8.50 Kempton: Desert Belle
Sir Mark Prescott’s staying filly won an all-weather maiden on her second start and has been performing consistently well on all her subsequent runs.
She has been runner-up on both of her latest outings and, even though she has shown no wayward tendencies, if the application of cheekpieces has a positive effect, she should be able to land her first handicap off this mark.
