The fifth and final instalment of the documentary series charting Brodie Hampson's journey into riding out her claim is now available on YouTube.
Titled ‘Brodie Hampson: Making A Claim’, the Tote has been following its ambassador on her pursuit to reach 75 winners, something that she recently achieved with a double for Archie Watson in Jersey, thus becoming one of the first female amateurs to achieve the feat.
The latest part of the series shows Brodie chasing down her final four winners to ride out her claim. Having won on her final ride over Jumps aboard Collingham at Catterick, she returns to Jersey with two rides, and having won aboard the grey Blue Yonder to bring her within touching distance, she then makes all on Throne Hall, a horse which has seen her win on as far as Bro Park in Sweden.
Having ridden out her claim, at the end of the video, Brodie says: “It’s massive. Once you’ve ridden out your claim, you’re a true professional. I never thought I’d get that close to doing it. Not many girl amateurs have done that, it’s brilliant to succeed as an amateur it is a lot harder to do because you’re not riding anywhere near as much.
“I’m still as hungry to ride winners,” she continues. “It’s a massive weight off my back. Before, I was getting frustrated when I didn’t win, as I wanted it so badly. I still want the winners, but it’s not as frustrating now!”
To celebrate this achievement, the Tote has donated £1,000 to Greatwood, HEROS, Prospect Hospice, Racing Welfare and the Injured Jockeys Fund – five charities nominated by Brodie.
