Warren Greatrex is giving his amateur jockey son Tom a golden opportunity to shine by booking him to ride Boite in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury on Saturday.Greatrex feels the 7lb Tom can claim will prove beneficial in one of the most competitive and valuable handicap hurdles of the season.A useful performer on the Flat, Boite has already done well over jumps. Successful on his reappearance at Wetherby at the beginning of December, the seven-year-old was fifth to Theligny over two and a half miles at Newbury on New Year's Eve."My son Tom will ride and claim 7lb off him. It's a big opportunity for him and the 7lb off the horse's back will help. It's a good opportunity for both," said the Upper Lambourn handler."I think this horse has got a good race in him. Whether he's up there, I don't know. There may be a few less exposed horses in there and that's why I'm claiming."He's run well around this track a few times, conditions will suit and he's in great form."Krugermac is highly unlikely to take his chance as Gary Moore does not want to run him when he is wrong at the weights. The six-year-old, who has had just the one run so far this campaign, will be re-routed to Ascot on Saturday week for the Les Ambassadeurs Handicap Hurdle."Apparently the top-weight (Renneti) runs. He'd be 6lb out of the handicap, so there's no point running. He'll go to Ascot next week," said the West Sussex trainer.
