Betting expert Dave Nevison is sweet on one at Exeter, which you can watch live on Racing TV, and also has a couple of fancies at Wolverhampton.
4.27 Exeter: Saint Cyr De Pail
This Jane Williams-trained gelding has one win to his name, which came over this course on good ground.
He has since been beaten four times - each time on heavy ground - and even though he has run very well on a couple of occasions it is possible he will be better served by the faster terrain he will encounter here.
One of his better runs came over this course and distance, too, and I am hopeful that the quicker ground will make life easier for him.
7.30 Wolverhampton: Charlatan
Charlatan is a 1lb better off with the topweight, Mariner, who beat him a head the last time they met.
It is again likely to be close between them but Charlatan now has the services of Callum Shepherd, having been ridden by a 7lb claimer for his past four starts.
He is a hold-up horse who was left too far back over this course and distance last time, although he still ran well enough. I believe he is still in decent form and that a wide draw won’t be too much of a problem.
8.30 Wolverhampton: Forest Spirit
Forest Spirit has obviously had training issues but showed plenty of promise when narrowly beaten over this course and distance last September.
She reappeared over 2f further last month (1m 6f) and made her move too early, going clear at one stage before fading.
It was a different story last week, back over this trip (1m 4f), as she bolted up by five lengths in a handicap for apprentice riders.
She has no penalty for that win and, now that she seems to be standing training, can follow up.
