Tuesday tips: Dave Nevison marks your card at Perth

This seven-year-old looks like he is improving over hurdles and, after winning at Hexham in August, he ran even better when runner-up over this course and distance last month, finishing in front of a last time out winner.

The winner of the race followed up nicely on her next start too and it looks strong form for this grade. I think that Gemini Man looks set to win again under identical conditions, with Iain Jardine having booked excellent 5lb claimer William Maggs to take significant weight off one set to carry 12st.

There are a couple of confirmed front runners in this race, but with Uptown Harry looking as though he was very much out of form all last season, I think there is a strong chance that Heaven Smart might well be able to dominate this modest field.

Laura Morgan’s gelding also lost his form last season and dropped down markedly in the weights. However, the lower mark, a wind operation and an association with Brian Hughes seem to have reawakened him this term.

He won over two and a half miles here in September, but he is just as good over this distance and I will be surprised if he doesn’t go close.

Olly Murphy has his string in very good form and he will be very keen to win with this gelding who makes his stable debut after moving from Paul Nicholls.

Kap Boy showed improved, if still modest form, when he was upped to this distance on his final start for Nicholls. He makes his handicap debut here under Sean Bowen and, even though this looks quite an interesting race for the grade with a few possible improvers, I still think the form of the Murphy yard tips things in his favour and makes him the obvious suggestion.
