Our betting expert, Dave Nevison, is sweet on a pair running at Taunton and likes another who will be in action at Hexham.
3.05 Taunton: Elusiveness
The apparent gamble on this mare last time might well have been a red herring. It may have had more to do with her Champion Hurdle-winning trainer having had three earlier winners on the same card.
In any event she never looked like justifying her price of 13-8 and she just plugged on for a well beaten fifth place.
However, Elusiveness did progress at a very lowly level last season and ran well enough last spring to make her worth a look in this very modest handicap now that she is running off a career-low mark.
More severe blinkers replace the cheekpieces on Tuesday and the faster ground (best ever run came on good ground) could also suit her a little better than mid-winter muddy conditions. She won’t get many better opportunities to win a race than this.
3.35 Taunton: Zucayan
After a pretty miserable Cheltenham Festival week Fergal O’Brien’s runners have come back to life in no uncertain terms, and it is difficult to think of a yard in better form.
Zucayan has run two good races on his latest starts and arguably should have won last time but was held up and made his move too late.
His jockey, Nick Slatter, is a very useful conditional and I am certain he will be keen to make amends here in a race where he can once again claim his 3lb allowance. The shorter trip and good ground are ideal.

4.20 Hexham: V Twelve
V Twelve is a consistent type on the Flat and over hurdles and signalled his second hurdles win was imminent with a two-length second last week.
He is turned out quickly off the same mark, with excellent young jockey William Maggs taking off another 5lb.
He has run well off a higher mark at Carlisle, which has a punishing uphill finish, so Hexham should suit him very well and trainer Martin Todhunter had a winner on Sunday.
