Tiffany could make her first appearance on British soil in almost two years in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Newmarket on Saturday.
Sir Mark Prescott’s star mare has not raced on home turf since finishing third behind Kalpana on Champions Day at Ascot in October 2024, with each of her four subsequent outings being on foreign soil.
The six-year-old has finished second at Group One level three times in Germany and having kicked off the new campaign with a narrow defeat in a French Listed race, she sets a lofty standard in a Group Two contest which has been switched to the July course due to ongoing ground issues at its usual home of Haydock.
Dan Downie, racing manager for Tiffany’s owners Elite Racing, said: “I haven’t actually spoken to Sir Mark today and I don’t know for sure without speaking to him, but looking at the entries I’d say it’s probably highly likely she’ll run on Saturday.
“She’s in good form and we’ll definitely be taking a serious look at it anyway.
“She seems absolutely A1, Sir Mark is very happy with her and you would hope she will come on a little bit for the run in France.”
While Tiffany has done much of her running on the continent on easier ground, Downie is not overly worried about running on a quicker surface this weekend.
“She’d be better on a better surface to be honest, so that isn’t really a concern,” he added.
With a mark of 112, Tiffany is comfortably clear of her eight potential rivals on official ratings.
Brian Meehan’s Miss Justice was not too far behind her when fourth in the same Listed event at Chantilly three weeks ago and could renew rivalry, while Ralph Beckett could raise the sights of Tattycoram after she won a Listed prize at Goodwood.
Noel Meade’s Caught U Sleeping, a Listed winner in Ireland and narrowly beaten in a Group Three at Naas last time, is also in the mix.
