3.30 Newmarket: Ice Cube
Ice Cube was only just denied on her last start over an extended mile last time out at Nottingham, but she can go one better than that effort on her return to seven furlongs.
The Richard Spencer-trained filly is clearly quite versatile as regards to the ground given she has recorded victories on both a slick surface and with plenty of juice underfoot.
Her last run at Nottingham was a step back in the right direction, however she can be forgiven her below par run at Ayr the time before, with it being her second outing in 24 hours.
A 4lb rise in the weights for her last time out defeat was not ideal, but if the application of cheekpieces can help her find a bit more improvement, then she should be on the premises.
4.12 Carlisle: Burdett Road (NAP)
Official ratings would suggest that Burdett Road has a bit to find with one or two of his rivals, but with his race fitness assured from a spell on the Flat, now could be the time to catch him.
Taking on the likes of 2025 Champion Hurdle winner Golden Ace, last year’s County Hurdle hero Wilful, and Grade One-winning chaser Mirabad, will be no easy task, however they are likely to be using this as a stepping stone towards bigger targets.
Rubaud defeated Burdett Road in this race twelve months ago when it was held at Kempton Park, but James Owen’s charge enjoys a better pull at the weights this time around, while the stiffer track is likely to suit him better.

4.40 Newmarket: Fenlander
The switch back to five furlongs could be exactly what Fenlander requires to find his way back to the number one spot.
His last two starts over six furlongs at Leicester would suggest that this looks a wise move, with his efforts petering out inside the final furlong.
Although much of his form has come on a sound surface, the Olly Williams-trained five-year-old has performed well with give in the ground as he showed last time out.
He remains on the same mark of 64 as last time, and if handling the Rowley Mile he could be tough to crack on a track where it can pay to be prominent.
4.45 Carlisle: Dearkeithandkaty
Dearkeithandkaty failed to fire when last seen pulling up in a handicap hurdle at Worcester in May, however the switch to fences could easily spark a revival in form.
Before that below par effort the Jonjo and AJ O’Neill-trained five-year-old had proven a real model of consistency, which suggests his last run can be forgiven.
While he has been seen running over much further, the son of Walzertakt ran a good race to finish second over course distance in a novices’ handicap hurdle last season.
Given he is from the family of Grade One winner Kemboy he should prove a much better chaser, and he begins life over fences over what looks a workable mark of 106 against far more exposed rivals.
