2.42 Hamilton: Eternal Sunshine
got beaten at short odds last time but only by half a length and essentially he ran well, challenging on the “wrong” side and finishing strongly.
Jim Goldie’s sprinter is on a recovery mission here and looks to have a lot going for him if he handles the
sprint track.
Surprisingly for a horse from his yard,
has reached five years of age and never run at the Glasgow track, but the uphill finish should suit this strong finisher, especially with several front runners in the field.
She won five times last season and, now she has hit form, is set for another successful campaign. She’s only 2lb higher than for her latest win.
4.12 Hamilton: Hale End
Michael Dods won three handicaps over a mile with Hale End last summer, but the evidence of his runs this season suggests strongly that the five-year-old is ready to be stepped up in trip. He gets and extra furlong and an uphill finish here.
Hale End won at
in 2023, so the course is clearly OK for him and he has dropped down to a mark 1lb lower than for his latest win in July of last season.
He has got closer in each of his three of his races this season, staying on well each time, and can strike in this competitive handicap under Connor Beasley, who won on him last summer.
5.17 Hamilton: Arch Legend
Arch Legend has never lived up to the early promise he showed for Charlie Johnston and might have had problems.
However, it looks like Ruth Carr may have got hold of a well handicapped horse and he has certainly suggested he can win a race or two for the yard.
The four-year-old would not be the first horse that Carr has revitalised from a big yard, and he ran an excellent second behind a back-to-form James Owen runner at Beverley last time out.
Arch Legend runs off the same mark in this, and may well progress this summer.
