Betting expert Dave Nevison is hoping for a profitable afternoon at Lingfield. He has three selections.
3.02 Lingfield: Darysina Gold
Even though she is drawn wide in stall 8, I fancy Darysina Gold to gain a favoured prominent position in a handicap that may not be that competitive.
Several runners in the field seem to prefer either a shorter or a longer trip and the main formbook rival, Meleri, didn’t run very well on her only previous all-weather start on her reappearance last year.
Darysina Gold ran possibly her best race on her final start last season when second at Wolverhampton in a similar event and looks as though she can win off this mark.
Eve Johnson Houghton has had three winners from her past ten runners at the time of typing and certainly has her horses in decent form this spring.
4.12 Lingfield: G’Daay
G’Daay has dropped below a mark of 70 and that could well be enough to help him get back to winning form after a spell out of form.
The seven-year-old last won back in August off a mark 0f 74 and after a few disappointing runs he certainly signalled his turn might be coming round again last time when he ran second at Chelmsford, where he might have gone closer but for hanging left close home.
Hopefully, James Doyle will be wise to that possibility this time and given that G’Daay latest win came over this course and distance a good run looks likely.
4.45 Lingfield: Midnightattheoasis
Phil McEntee has long been a master at getting a rapid sequence of results out of low-grade handicappers and Midnightattheoasis looks a fine example and can extend his rapid winning run to five.
He has gone up 18lb during his purple patch but the handicapper has been struggling to keep up with him. He had a few traffic problems last time but still managed to win quite cosily.
