2.07 Ludlow: Rockinastorm
Rockinastorm has found life tough in handicaps after he was raised half a stone having won a couple of races in late 2024, including one at this track.
He has now dropped 3lb beneath his previous winning mark and there were encouraging signs last time out. He seemed to find the combination of an extreme trip and very soft ground a little too much and faded in the closing stages, but looked as though he was back in some sort of form.
Henry Daly has dropped Rockinastorm half a mile in trip here and, off bottom weight, that could be enough to get him back on track.
3.17 Ludlow: Everyonesacritic
Evan Williams has this horse well entered up in the next few days so clearly thinks he is in good enough form at present. The recent form backs that up, as the seven-year-old won very well by almost ten lengths last time out, earning a 7lb rise.
He backed up a win in this race last season and it looks very possible he could do this again this time around.
4.01 Taunton: Fortune Dancer
It is difficult to get away from Fortune Dancer in this winnable handicap chase, despite the fact that Chris Gordon’s mare has now gone up 30lb in the weights for being unbeaten in her three steeplechases so far.
She has been raised 6lb for her latest win, which was only achieved by a length and a quarter, but she was idling at the finish there and looked to still have plenty in the tank. A staying trip and soft ground bring out the best in this daughter of Soldier Of Fortune and she gets both here, while Freddie Gordon has been on her for her two most recent wins.
