Betting expert Dave Nevison marks your card for the midweek action in Yorkshire, live on Racing TV.
2.30 Wetherby: Latenightrumble
Latenightrumble looks nap material here. Not only is he the unexposed chaser in the field, with just two promising runs over fences under his belt, but he has also begun his chasing career off a very favourable mark due to his relatively modest runs as a hurdler.
He won four times in point-to-points, so it was probably no surprise that he won on his chasing debut over fences over Wednesday’s course and distance, gaining valuable experience of the punishing Wetherby home straight.
Latenightrumble probably should have followed up next time at Leicester but was unsuited by a steadily run race over a shorter trip. He gets on very well with his amateur rider and back at Wetherby should score again.
3.40 Wetherby: Getaway Drumlee
A very cheap purchase for the Ben Pauling yard, which is probably a relief to his connections as Getaway Drumlee is now a nine-year-old who is having just his ninth start under Rules.
He has had two runs over fences this season and has performed well in both, so it does look as though he is standing training this term and this looks a good opportunity for him to get off the mark over fences.
He is a hurdle and point-to-point winner, so definitely has ability. Hopefully, Ben Jones will be able to keep him straight as he almost ran out at Fontwell last time.
4.15 Wetherby: Hardy De Seuil
Hardy De Seuil has won over this distance over fences at stamina sapping Carlisle, so it is perhaps a little surprising that he has done most of his racing over hurdles at the minimum trip and often at sharp tracks.
He does seem happier over hurdles and ran a very good race last time when fifth, not beaten far, by Secret Squirrel in a hot race at Windsor last time.
The handicapper is gradually relenting and he is down below 130 here, with Will Featherstone again claiming 7lb.
He has run very well to be placed twice over hurdles here in recent seasons, so the track clearly suits him.
