Top tipster Dave Nevison shares his best bets for and Ayr on Thursday, live on Racing TV.
3.25 Ayr: Rousing Encore
Rousing Encore almost managed to win when I tipped him over this course and distance last week, and he was beaten just a length. He did confirm that he has taken well to the move to Ruth Carr's yard and I think this looks like another opportunity to land a first victory since he was very highly-tried as a two-year-old.
He looks as though he might well be able to get the lead here, which might suit him very well, and hopefully he can hang on to the line.
I definitely believe he is on a handicap mark that will allow him to strike.
4.43 Exeter: Harrys Hope
Harrys Hope is a full-sister to The Boola Boss who was a very modest novice hurdler that improved greatly when switched to fences, and it looks as though she is following in her big brother’s hoofprints.
The six-year-old found herself on an absolute basement mark for her chasing debut at Southwell last time, but was impressive nonetheless and jumped very well at the back of the field before making rapid headway to put the race beyond doubt turning into the straight.
A 7lb penalty really shouldn’t make too much difference and this winning point-to-pointer looks to have a decent future in handicap chases.
5.18 Exeter: In The Air
has obviously taken very well to moving to a big yard and landed quite a gamble when bolting up on his first start for Nicky Henderson.
He was supported into odds-on and he won like a very short-priced favourite should. Under a penalty here, he still looks to have plenty in hand.
He clearly didn’t need the headgear he had been running in previously, and it is left off again. Top-class conditional jockey Freddie Gordon is a positive jockey booking, and I doubt he will have too many problems with him.
