After signing off his two-year-old campaign with a win in August, the son of Cotai Glory then had a setback which meant he was not seen on a racecourse until making his handicap debut at Kempton this month. On what was also his first run since having a gelding operation, he raced too freely and ultimately trailed home last of the eight runners.
Having also had his momentum checked as they began their turn right-handed last time, trainer Roger Varian was keen to draw a line through that latest run and he has decided to step The Lost Sock back down to the minimum trip tonight in the hope that he will settle better. He should also come on plenty for his reappearance effort.
Tonight, The Lost Sock will face seven opponents off a 1lb lower mark (rated 83) and has been dealt a positive draw in stall two. Callum Rodriguez yet again takes the ride.
