Listowel's long week concludes and we've the start of a really nice two days of action at The Curragh – with one Frankie Dettori riding for Aidan O'Brien!
I am old enough to remember the hoopla when the Italian rode for Coolmore in the St Leger aboard one Scorpion – at the time Coolmore and Godolphin were not exactly best buds. Despite or because of the horse, Frankie prevailed.
Dettori is on the retirement trail and his presence will do no harm to the Curragh attendance. Be lucky.
4.50 Curragh: Yosemite Valley
This son of Shamardal was a remarkably short price on his return at Navan and it's fair to say he was unlucky. He was caught out of his ground but stayed on strongly and he seems to have developed physically. He really should be winning this on juvenile form.
5.05 Listowel: Harvey's Quay
Edward O'Grady is still going strong and the booking of Derek O'Connor suggests this horse will be ready. His last chase run was really encouraging and he should have more to offer.
