We will be soon counting down to the Irish Derby after an epic weekend of the Epsom Classics. Here is an each-way Trixie for Sunday’s action. Be lucky.
3.20 Kilbeggan: Killinure Lass
Brian McMahon has his horses in good nick and this mare is interesting in a race that will seemingly take little winning.
It’s hard to know what trip she wants but she seemed to get this one very well at Punchestown and, having run well in a maiden hurdle for John Gleeson, she has plenty of upside off just 88. She also can jump better.
3.55 Kilbeggan: Run Like Fada
This Court Cave gelding travelled like a winner at Ballinrobe and it is hard to know how he ended up finishing only third but perhaps he needed the run, having been off since October.
He is 6lb better off with the winner and it was a terrific run considering his inexperience. His trainer is doing well and he looks the most likely winner.
4.10 Listowel: Chilled Out
It’s hardly a surprise that Churchill horses have a terrible record on bad ground.
The stats of his progeny are as follows: 31 per cent winners to runners on good ground, two from 27 on soft or worse.
Moreover, his offspring, unsurprisingly, improve with time as many are quite big. The dam won twice, both times good to firm. Chilled Out only ran once at two, but was a short enough price, and the chances are he is far better than he showed that day.
