Andy Stephens (The Data Detective) likes a pair who will be in action on Racing TV on Saturday plus is sweet on a quartet at Royal Ascot.
A pair to watch out for on Racing TV
King Of The Jungle was an emphatic winner at Beverley last time and will take some stopping in the Unite John Gillespie Celebration Handicap at Ayr (2.18) if he’s in similar form.
The six-year-old was quickest to 20mph (2.2sec) and sat in third before taking command in the penultimate furlong. He was the only horse to dip under 13sec in the final furlong to seal things, getting a Time Index of 9.1 when the meeting average was 6.4.
His win time was 1.67sec quicker than the RaceiQ Par and a 6lb rise may not stop him following up.
Spoken Truth is likely to take plenty of stopping in the Wildwest Beer Festival 4th July Handicap at Nottingham (7.10).
He kept on well to finish third behind Sallaall and Respond at Epsom last time, having been only tenth with two furlongs to run. He was quicker than all bar the smart winner in the closing stages.
The pair that beat him last time went into the race rated 107 and 105, but he’s dropping into 0-85 company here.
✅ 3.05 ROYAL ASCOT: KALPANA
Kalpana has a tricky low draw in the Hardwicke, but she’s got good gate speed and can enhance her already excellent record at Ascot. Her most recent 0-20mph form: reads 21121
Her exploits at the track include two wins in the Fillies & Mares’ Stakes plus beating all bar Calandagan in last season’s King George.
She got a Time Index of 9.9 when winning on her return at Newbury, when the meeting average was only 5.8. Despite havinga Group One penalty, she won in a time 4.11sec quicker than the RaceiQ Par .
✅ 4.20 ROYAL ASCOT: MORRIS DANCER
Morris Dancer lacks a recent run but that is offset by his chunky odds and he makes each-way appeal.
He showed a sharp turn of foot to win on his final start at Salisbury last season when both his final furlongs were "fast".
Before that, he had narrowly failed to peg back Zavateri in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, when a slow start ended up costing him dear.
The John and Thady Gosden-trained colt was fastest of the whole field through each of the final four furlongs, but ran out of road and Zavateri clung on by a short head. The winner went on to beat Gstaad in the National Stakes.

✅ 5.00 ROYAL ASCOT: DOUBLE RUSH
Double Rush has gone up 15lb for his wins at Newmarket this season but looks a Group horse running in a handicap.
He clocked the best Time Index on the card when winning at the Craven meeting and followed up at the Guineas Festival when achieving No1 in all the main RaceiQ metrics.
His draw in stall 24 is also favourable. RaceiQ's Draw Bias metric reckons it is worth a 0.34 length advantage.
✅ 5.35 ROYAL ASCOT: SAHARA KING
The London Gold Cup at Newbury nearly always represents strong form, with its roll of honour including Al Kazeem, Cannock Chase, Time Test, Defoe, Headman and Bay Bridge.
This year’s edition also looked up to scratch, with Lost Boys and Sahara King dominating the closing stages. The pair were purchased by Wathnan afterwards (as was the third home), with the latter fancied to turn the tables.
RaceiQ’s draw data suggested Lost Boys, in stall 2, had an instant 0.44 length advantage before the gates had opened and that transpired as Sahara King had little option but to settle in rear from his unfavourable high draw.
To compound matters, Sahara King also had to challenge wide but the acceleration he showed in the eighth furlong (only horse to dip under 11sec) and ninth furlong (11.24sec, which was 0.3sec quicker than anything else) swept him to the front. He hit 41.19mph, the highest speed any horse reached over the two-day meting at Newbury.
Lost Boys managed to edge him out after being marginally quicker in the final furlong, though the result was only confirmed after a stewards’ enquiry.
Sahara King's high draw is favourable on this occasion; cheekpieces are added and he's the choice of James Doyle.
