The Data Detective: clues and tips for Wednesday

By Andy Stephens
Last Updated: Tue 13 Oct 2026
Andy Stephens, AKA The Data Detective, marks your card for the action at Nottingham.

Enjoy our RaceiQ pace maps

✅ 3.04 NOTTINGHAM: KNIGHTS CHARGE

Finishing Speed % form: 2113
Draw advantage: 0.31 lengths
Trainer A/E at Nottingham: 2.09
Knights Charge won over course and distance in May when he signed off with two very fast furlongs of 11.5 seconds and 12.37 seconds.
He looked like following up switched to handicap company at Doncaster last time but he was having his first start for four months and got worn down close home. He will be sharper here and can enhance Roger Varian’s excellent record at Nottingham in the past 12 months.

✅ 3.39 NOTTINGHAM: GREEN FALCON

FSP at Ffos Las: 108.62% (best)
Average strides per second: 2.08 (low)
Jockey overall A/E: 1.13
Green Falcon’s low stride cadence suggests he will relish stepping up to two miles in the Colwick Cup at Nottingham.
He was beaten a neck and a short head over one mile and six furlongs at Ffos Las last time when staying on strongest at the finish under Saffie Osborne, who is back on board. In addition, the three-year-old gets chunks of weight off more exposed rivals.

✅ 6.00 KEMPTON: KITARO KICH

Highest Speed: 42.80mph
Latest FSP: 109.71% (best)
Trainer A/E at Kempton: 1.45
Kitaro Kich has slipped back to the mark he was an emphatic winner off at Kempton this time last year and can take advantage.
He was only seventh here last time when held up in a slow-run race, but that masks the fact he had the best Finishing Speed Percentage. Trainer George Baker’s runners at Kempton in the past year have exceeded market expectations by 45 per cent.
