Survie strikes for George Boughey in Saratoga Grade One

Survie picked up best to land the Christophe Clement Turf Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday evening.
The George Boughey-trained five-year-old mare looked to have it all to do turning for home in the mile and a half Grade One contest, but produced a fantastic turn of foot under Manuel Franco to pick up Minaret Station and Program Trading near the finish.
The race didn't pan out as connections may have hoped for the 2-1 favourite Ancient Egypt, with the Charlie Johnston-trained and David Egan-ridden three-year-old most inconvenienced by the pedestrian gallop.
The win was the latest top-level success for Boughey, and came during a week in which the retirement of unbeaten colt Bow Echo was announced.
