Top presenter Angus McNae has selections across and this afternoon, the two meetings live on Racing TV.
3.25 Cork: Vespertilio
This represents a big drop in class for this filly. Her past five starts have been in Group One company and now, on her seasonal reappearance, she gets to tackle a Listed event.
She was a useful two-year-old having finished second in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh, and that effort enticed connections to tackle the French and Irish Guineas last season. When last seen, she finished fifth in the Coolmore America "Justify" Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.
None of her rivals can boast such a CV, and she can win for the second time in her career in a race that is much weaker than any she has contested for a while.
3.57 Cork: Elizabeth Jane
Dermot Weld has his team in fine form for the start of the flat season and this filly has some useful form to her name, as well as being unexposed over 12 furlongs.
She finished fourth in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks last season on her only attempt over 12 furlongs and, given that there is plenty of stamina in her pedigree, it makes sense for her to start the season back over that trip.
The selection ended last season with a comfortable win in Listed company at Leopardstown, and this lightly raced-filly looks set to improve again this season for her in-form trainer.
3.37 Fairyhouse: Karniquet
The Willie Mullins bandwagon can roll on with a Grade Two success here courtesy of Karniquet.
This five-year-old has progressed all season and finishing fourth in the Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices' Hurdle last time out was another step forward.
He also finished second behind stable companion Kopek Des Bordes at Leopardstown prior to that and he meets lesser opposition here plus is the chosen mount of Paul Townend in a race where Willie Mullins has five runners.
4.47 Fairyhouse: Blue Reed
The useful conditional Tiernan Power Roche takes over on this in-form handicapper who has run well in finishing second on his past two starts, and now drops down in trip, which looks sure to suit.
He hasn't appeared to quite stay the trip on his past two outings when finishing second to stronger stayers, and he will be much more suited to racing over two miles here.
He carries top weight in this weak handicap and if he can back up his latest effort, when second at Punchestown, he will be hard to beat.
