Top presenter Angus McNae shares his best bets for the action at the Curragh on Sunday, live on Racing TV.
1.25 Curragh: Force Noir
I fancy that Persian Force will be one of the leading first-season sires this season, and he can win the first two-year-old race of the season with
Force Noir.
David Egan is on board, and he has won this race for the past couple of years plus had the choice of the three Amo Racing-trained contenders.
Force Noir is also related to plenty of winners, and can make a winning start to his career.
2.35 Curragh: Mickey The Steel
Mickey The Steel doesn't win very often, but he is dangerously well handicapped now that he is racing off a mark of 67.
He steps back up in trip to six furlongs, which will suit him, and heavy ground is also favourable. He was last seen finishing fourth in a competitive handicap at the
Curragh and, given he is now 13lb below his last winning mark, he must be of interest.
4.20 Curragh: Orandi
Orandi won this race last year before finishing an excellent third in the Lincoln at Doncaster. He gets to race off a mark that is just 6lb higher this year, and heavy ground will suit him. Ryan Moore is also on board for the first time.
The selection will need some luck in running as he is a strong-travelling, hold-up performer, but you rarely need to trust luck when Ryan Moore is in the saddle.
5.30 Curragh: Kakori
Joseph O'Brien has his team in good form, and he can win the last with Kakori who shaped with plenty of promise on his final start last season at Gowran Park.
That effort was his first handicap outing, and he was held up a long way off the pace in a steadily-run contest, but made some late headway.
That contest was over seven furlongs, and he will be suited by the return to a mile plus time may tell that he is well treated off a rating of 67.
