Top presenter Angus McNae marks your card for the action live on Racing TV on Sunday.
There are three meetings on Racing TV on Sunday, with
Fairyhouse staging thn best of the action in the shape of two Grade Ones, and I have selections in both of those races, as well as a fancy at Carlisle.
1.35 Fairyhouse: Belloccio
This Grade Two can go to the Willie Mullins team.
Belloccio won off a rating of 100 at Ascot on the Flat in the summer and looked an exciting prospect over obstacles when scoring by nine lengths on his hurdling debut at Punchestown.
He cruised clear of his rivals that day having jumped adequately and although this is a big step up in class, he looks capable of developing into a very useful novice hurdler.
Mullins has won five of the past ten renewals of this race and looks set to land it again.
1.55 Carlisle: Come on Teddy
Harry Cobden goes to Carlisle to ride Caldwell Potter (the red-hot favourite for the novices' chase on the card) on his chasing debut, and he can make the trip more than worthwhile by winning on Come on Teddy as well.
The selection returned to fences last time out at Exeter where, after an absence, he returned with a good effort to finish a staying-on third behind Stormy Flight over a barely adequate 2m3f.
He steps up to three miles here, which will suit, and the booking of Cobden is eye-catching.
2.05 Fairyhouse: Firefox
This very useful hurdler, who was third in the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, made a most impressive winning start to his chasing career at Down Royal last time out, and can take the step up to Grade One company in his stride.
He jumped superbly at Down Royal, and the RaceiQ data shows he gained 9.81 lengths on his rivals through his jumping, and he barely came off the bridle to saunter clear.
He is a very smart prospect and his jumping can prove decisive in enabling him to land this Grade One contest.
2.40 Fairyhouse: Lossiemouth
I am a big fan of this mare and fancy her to win the Unibet Champion Hurdle in March.
For now, though, she can make a winning start to the season by beating the two-time winner of this race, Teahupoo.
She is a mare with a high cruising speed and was most impressive when scoring at Cheltenham and Punchestown last season.
Her speed is allied with some slick jumping, which could be the key point here as her main rival, Teahupoo, is a moderate jumper.
If you also factor in the fact that Lossiemouth gets the 7lb mares' allowance from him, then there is a compelling case to suggest that she should be favourite here.
