Sunday tips: Angus McNae's best bets at Cheltenham

Team Skelton produced A Pai De Nom to win here on Friday after having had just two starts in bumpers and can repeat the trick with Soldier Reeves, who was second on his bumper debut at Newton Abbot last month.

That contest was won in a fast time and Soldier Reeves is bred to be even better now he races over obstacles under Rules. With the yard in such good form, he is a play in the opener. 

This horse looked to be a smart prospect when winning a novice here last time out and he should be backed to follow up that victory.

He travelled and jumped well that day, cruising six and a half lengths clear of the second, who has since won a novice chase at Gowran. This is only his third start over hurdles and there is plenty more to come from him for Willie Mullins. 

This Venetia Williams-trained chaser is at his best in testing conditions and, with this race sure to put an emphasis on stamina, has to be the one to be with.

He was an excellent second in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter last March and with the Williams team beginning to roll he looks sure to run well. 

This Irish raider was a useful horse on the Flat for William Haggas and showed his aptitude for hurdling when beating then useful Kainsbourg on his debut.

He was outclassed by Anzadam on his next start in the Limestone Lad Hurdle but remains with abundant potential off a workable mark of 138.

He handles heavy ground and is totally unexposed compared to some of his rivals. He looks to be a decent play at a good price.
