3.02 Naas: Mississippi River
This youngster may be one of the lesser-rated three-year-old's in Aidan O'Brien's yard, but he is still a useful performer and, in my opinion, ahead of his rating of 90.
He was a good second here last time out when narrowly beaten, and he would have probably won had he not been hampered turning for home. He may prove to be better than a handicapper in time, and can strike here.
3.32 Naas: Candleford Green
Candleford Green, a rare runner in a Fillies Maiden for Willie Mullins, narrowly lost out on her debut late last year at Leopardstown, shaping like a strong stayer at the trip.
The time of that race was good and this well-related filly, who cost 230,000gns as a yearling, has plenty of potential to improve from her debut, and become a useful three-year-old.
4.15 Newmarket: Reigning Profit
The handicapper has exacted some revenge after this six-year-old won well at Ripon last time out, but he may not have done enough to stop him winning again.
Ruth Carr has her team in tremendous form, and Reigning Profit has been a good servant to her yard. He is tactically versatile, and looks set to complete the hat-trick at a time when he is in the form of his life.
5.15 Newmarket: Sportingsilvermine
James Owen has a burgeoning reputation for improving horses from other yards, and this four-year-old, who was formerly trained by Denis Hogan, immediately won twice for Owen before finishing second last time out.
That defeat was not a disappointing one, though, as he produced a career-best speed figure, and travelled like the best horse in the race.
He has not stopped improving yet, and can secure his third win for the yard.
