Saffie Osborne and Clifford Lee were all smiles after splitting the £10,000 Jockey Cup prize on the first Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture of the year at Musselburgh.
Osborne was the first of the pair to record a winner when guiding Kelpie Grey to victory in the Sky Bet Match5 Handicap, but Lee swept to the top of the leaderboard after recording a quick-fire double aboard Ice Max (Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap) and Liamarty Dreams (Sky Bet Request A Bet Handicap), with the former a particularly impressive winner.
Lee appeared to have one hand on the £10,000 cheque, but Osborne guided Equality (100-30f) to victory in the finale, the Sky Bet Acca Freeze Handicap, which meant her and Lee were joint-winners of the valuable prize.
The Jockey Cup is a feature at each Sky Bet Sunday Series Fixture again this year, with £10,000 up for grabs to the jockey who amasses most points.
Trainers Jim Goldie and Karl Burke both recorded doubles, too, and if any of the seven winners on today's Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture manage to win two more races at the other fixtures, they will receive a £100,000 bonus!
Stable staff will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes during the series, with a total of £15,000 (£10k, £3k, £2k) to be paid out to the stable staff of the first three trainers in the Series. In addition, Sky Bet kindly sponsor and offer £250 for the Best Turned Out in each race.
has also been welcomed as the new charity partner for the Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture this year, and Alan Dixon, alongside his daughter Liv, spoke about the charity, which is close to their heart, on Racing TV. You can watch their interview with Gordon Brown here:
