The latest Sky Bet Sunday Series took place at Hamilton on Sunday and it was a case of déjà vu as far as Jim Goldie and Lauren Young were concerned.
The duo struck with
Letsbefrank at Musselburgh’s Sunday Series fixture in April and followed that up with another victory in the finale at Hamilton.
The son of Frankel won the £100,000 Sky Bet Sunday Series bonus in 2024 and is yet again in the hunt for that same prize this year with two Series wins. Two fixtures remain, Thirsk on 31 May and Pontefract on August 16. Expect to see the six-year-old bid for a hat-trick in two weeks’ time.
Earlier on the card, the William Haggas-trained Valiancy continued his progression with a win in the Sky Bet Extra Places Handicap over 1m5f. The son of Cracksman was value for his winning margin of a length and a quarter and was the only ride of the day for James Doyle.
Having not been seen since signing off his three-year-old campaign with a win in September, this was a highly encouraging reappearance and he looks highly progressive. The Wathnan Racing-owned gelding holds an entry in the JenningsBet Northumberland Plate on June 27, for which he is a best-priced 7-1.
James Doyle told us more about the William Haggas-trained Valiancy on Racing TV.
Tim Easterby and David Allan also continued their good form with a double on the card.
Having landed the opening two-year-old novice with Mind Those Steps, the duo then struck with Red Spells Danger, who ran away with the six-furlong Sun's 'Save Our Bets' Handicap to win by four lengths.
A progressive three-year-old, this dominant victory followed an eight and a half length success at Ripon just nine days previously. The handicapper will now have his say.
