15:45 - Sky Bet Sunday Series EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes

The form of Misty Blues has a solid feel to it, but she may be more of a force in handicaps after this start, a comment that also applies to Top Of The Class and the wide-drawn Lady Lavina. Kempton winner Speriamo is also drawn out on the wing so, whilst respected under her winner's penalty, she is taken on with DISPUTED. Ben Curtis looks a notable jockey booking on a horse who showed plenty of promise when third to a red-hot favourite at Musselburgh. Gutsy Lady, for all her debut form hasn't worked out, is also considered.

Verdict: 1 DISPUTED 2 SPERIAMO 3 LADY LAVINA

16:15 - Sky Bet Sunday Series Handicap

Keith Dalgleish and Karl Burke are having a private battle for the £25,000 prize to the first trainer to saddle seven winners in the Sky Bet Sunday Series, so their runners - most notably El Picador - are hugely respected, however the nod goes to the well-handicapped course specialist HIGHWAYGREY. He has four wins at the track to his name and has plenty in his favour here. Mackenzie Rose came from off the pace when winning nicely at Doncaster and is preferred to stablemate Love Is Golden in terms of dangers.

Verdict: 1 HIGHWAYGREY 2 MACKENZIE ROSE 3 EL PICADOR

16:45 - Sky Bet Sunday Series Pontefract Castle Fillies' Stakes (Listed Race)

There's a strong chance that BARTZELLA will be allowed to set her own fractions out in front and, as the best filly in the field already, she should prove extremely hard to beat, despite her Listed penalty. Invite has also won at that level, but recent performances in a higher grade suggest that the application of a hood needs to have a significant effect, so bigger dangers could be By Starlight, Lady Hayes and Glenartney who all ran fairly well in Group Three contests when last seen.

Verdict: 1 BARTZELLA 2 BY STARLIGHT 3 LADY HAYES

17:15 - Sky Bet Sunday Series Pontefract Cup Handicap (Round 4 Of The Pontefract Stayers Championship 2022)

Oleg showed a good attitude when winning here in 2020, but has been off the track a long time, so the market may be the best guide to his chance. A more solid proposition is THE RUTLAND REBEL, a course winner who has also been placed here on several occasions, including this month when third to Overhaugh Street (when Flint Hill was a place further back). The stiffer test of stamina here should suit the talented hurdler Didtheyleaveuoutto, a comment that also applies to Kaizer. Captain Haddock, the in-form Twilight Prince, Haizoom and Yasmin From York are also others to consider in a tricky puzzle to solve.

Verdict: 1 THE RUTLAND REBEL 2 OVERHAUGH STREET 3 DIDTHEYLEAVEUOUTTO

17:45 - Sky Bet Sunday Series Middle-Distance Handicap

A return to Pontefract should see Approachability in a better light, but this test of stamina should be right up HAUNTED DREAM's street. Things happened too fast when he was quickly turned out at Ripon last time, but he should be a different proposition here after a 35-day break. Small rises in the weights shouldn't prevent another strong performance from each of the recent winners Bamboo Bay and Unplugged, and they appear to be more eminent dangers than the Ripon specialist Fishable.

Verdict: 1 HAUNTED DREAM 2 UNPLUGGED 3 BAMBOO BAY

18:15 - Sky Bet Sunday Series 3YO Mile Handicap

Plenty of front-runners here which could set the race up for a horse that comes from off the pace - ALBEGREY fits the bill most, ahead of Fiftyshadesaresdev and recent York winner Exminster. Tim Easterby's charge appreciated a decent gallop when winning at Ripon back in May and wasn't beaten far under less suitable conditions at Carlisle last time out. Fiftyshadesaresdev is yet to win but cheekpieces may yet eke out more improvement, while Million Thanks is lightly raced and strikes as the sort who has more to give, a comment that also applies to the in-form pair of Aguaplano and Tarbaan.

Verdict: 1 ALBEGREY 2 FIFTYSHADESARESDEV 3 AGUAPLANO

18:45 - Sky Bet Sunday Series Sprint Handicap

Sixteen runners and a 6 lb rise in the weights stands between EILEAN DUBH and a bonus of £100,000 to the owner of the first horse to win three races in the Sky Bet Sunday Series. This won't be easy but he won with real authority at York last month and can raise the roof once more. Il Bandito is respected as he chases his own hat-trick, though the drop in trip poses a different question, while Dream Composer is well-drawn in his own bid for three in a row. The handful of course and distance winners, most notably Golden Apollo who caught the eye in defeat last time, will provide stiff opposition.

Verdict: 1 EILEAN DUBH 2 DREAM COMPOSER 3 GOLDEN APOLLO
