Six horses to follow this Saturday on Racing TV

Danny Archer gives you six names to note ahead of a superb day's action live on Racing TV.
In what has already been an eventful week in the sport, more drama awaits this weekend with a glut of quality action across Gowran Park, Haydock and Wincanton live on Racing TV.
With the likes of Goshen, Bristol De Mai, Teahupoo, Adagio and Porticello in action, Cheltenham Festival and indeed Grand National pointers are the order of the day this weekend, provided the meetings beat the elements.
After three winners from six selections last week, I’ve once again previewed the pick of the action with six runners to watch.

PORTICELLO

This looks a canny bit of placing by trainer Gary Moore.
A winner in France on debut, Porticello has since won two of his three starts over timber for the Sussex trainer and created a striking impression when powering to an 8½-length victory in Grade One company at Chepstow in December.
A relentless galloper, the four-year-old will relish these testing conditions and is currently a 12/1 chance with Betfair for the JCB Triumph Hurdle. Along with Doctor Parnassus, he looks the pick of the British contigent in the Triumph and he can cement his Festival claims with victory here.

GOSHEN

It could be a good day for Gary Moore as Goshen makes plenty of appeal in his bid for successive victories in this Grade Two prize. A winner by 22 lengths last year, this sharp right-handed track clearly plays to his strengths and he looks tough to oppose on the forecast testing ground.
Clearly an enigma, Goshen did highlight his wellbeing when bouncing back to form in some style in the Listed Contenders Hurdle at Sandown Park last time. This is a quick reappearance after what looked a tough race on testing ground, but Goshen has come out of that contest in fine form according to Moore.
Adagio is clearly a player based on his Triumph Hurdle and Greatwood Hurdle runner-up efforts. However, this looks more of a prep run to get him ready for the Champion Hurdle and he looks best watched on his return from injury.

BUSHYPARK

There are a number of interesting contenders in this qualifier for the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival - including the classy Ch’tibello and course scorers Mill Green and Tamar Bridge - but Bushypark looks a fascinating runner.
The eight-year-old won five of his six starts over timber last term, including a fine victory in this race by 8½ lengths. Sent chasing this season, he made the perfect start at Kelso in December but has disappointed on his last two runs.
The return to hurdles is fascinating and despite being 12lb higher now than this time last year he looks a leading player given his form over course and distance and his liking for testing ground.

HILLCREST

"I don't know how good he is" - trainer Henry Daly on Hillcrest after victory at Cheltenham on New Year's Day
This is a big opportunity for Hillcrest to get back to winning ways.
He looks sure to be suited by a stiff test of stamina and the seven-year-old could well be unbeaten over hurdles but for unseating his rider at Cheltenham in Graded company last time out. Richard Patrick was unlucky given the pair were hampered by a faller and it is very easy to write off that incident.
A previous winner on soft ground at Cheltenham in January, these testing conditions should play to his strengths and despite the threat posed by smart Graded scorer Green Book I think Hillcrest can advertise his Cheltenham Festival claims.

INDIANA JONES

This is fascinating beginners chase in which Grand Paradis and Blue Sari are deeply respected, but Indiana Jones gets the vote amongst the triumvirate towards the top of the betting.
The six-year-old was second on his first two starts over fences, emerging with plenty of credit on both occasions. Still in with a chance on his penultimate run at Naas, he took a heavy fall at the final fence in a race won by Capodanno and featuring Gaillard Du Mesnil. He was then arguably travelling best when falling at the 12th fence at Navan last time and it remains a case of what might have been.
It is far too early to be writing off Mouse Morris’ charge and, while there are stark concerns about his jumping, Indiana Jones does have the quality to make his mark in this event.

EDE’IFFS ELTON

This looks very winnable and Ede’iffs Elton could well be thrown in.
The eight-year-old runs off a mark of 114 and, while he clearly has plenty to find on ratings, he remains an unexposed chaser who crucially enjoys the test at Wincanton having won here last year before finishing a narrow second back at this track in December.
Ede'iffs Elton was slightly disappointing at Exeter last time, but that form has been franked with the runner-up scoring next time and with concerns over Sojourn and El Paso Wood here this could just turn into a tussle with five-time chase winner I See You Well.
