Saturday tips from Martin Dixon: "she has outstanding claims"

Patrick Neville's yard have enjoyed a terrific December already, and I'd be very confident that Not Staying Long will follow up her recent course and distance success here. 

A 10lb rise actually looks quite lenient given how well she took to chasing that day, and she had the race won a long way out before easing clear. 

This looks an ideal spot to follow up and with top conditional rider Dylan Johnston booked, she has outstanding claims.

Some progressive handicappers line up for this class three contest, including Jedd O'Keefe's Mr Bramley who surged away from a well backed, and well handicapped rival in Hourvari at Wetherby last time out. I'm surprised the assessor has only put him up 3lb for that. 

An imposing sort with a fine attitude, I'd expect this slight step up in distance to draw out more improvement and general odds of 11-2, at the time of writing, look too big.

Best odds: 8-1 (each-way).

Although finishing just behind Surrey Quest at Cheltenham last time, I thought Hymac shaped second best for much of the way and it may just have been that a quickish turnaround from his comeback win over hurdles blunted his finishing effort slightly. 

Although he clearly stays well, I certainly don't think he needs an extreme stamina test and, if anything, this slight drop back in distance on a flat track could suit perfectly. 

He's a general 8-1 chance, but at odds of 6-1 or bigger, I'll be looking to have a good each-way bet.
