Sandown and France on the radar for Ptit Zig

Paul Nicholls has hinted dual Grade One winner Ptit Zig could head to Sandown on the final day of the season before being aimed at another spring campaign in France.The Ditcheat handler is contemplating turning the eight-year-old out in the same Listed contest he won at the Esher track 12 months ago on April 29, after deciding to take him out of the Sun Bets Stayers' Hurdle at next month's Cheltenham Festival.After tasting Grade One glory on his penultimate start in France last year, the Chris Giles and Barry Fulton-owned gelding has failed to feature to figure on both starts in Britain this season, the most recent when finishing down the field in last month's Cleeve Hurdle.Nicholls said: "We took him out of the Stayers' Hurdle as he is a better horse fresh in the spring. We might go to Sandown again or he could go to Aintree, then do the French races again as there is massive prize-money there."He is not going to win a Stayers' Hurdle but we have left a couple in that. Zarkandar could run in that, but I am not going to run them in it for the sake of it."If they are not good enough, they are not good enough. We will go and do what we did last year and try to win some other races."
