Ryan Moore: the inside track on my day two rides

Top jockey and World Pool ambassador Ryan Moore has a strong book of rides on day two of Royal Ascot on Wednesday and has provided the lowdown on each of his mounts.
Race 1: G2 Queen Mary Stakes (2.30)
VICTORIOUS lines up in the Queen Mary Stakes. She's out of Heaven On Earth, so she's from a great family — the family of Minding.
She's two from two having won on debut at Naas and then at Naas again in a Group Three over six furlongs. The drop back to five furlongs is a slight query, but the five at Ascot is stiff.
It’s a 28-runner two-year-old race, so you really can’t be too confident, but I wouldn’t swap her for anything else.
Race 2: G2 Queen’s Vase (3.05)
PORT OF SPAIN steps up in trip after his first run of the season in the London Gold Cup at Newbury.
He’s up in both class and distance here and I think he’ll go well. He’s a likeable horse.
It doesn’t look an overly deep race. I suppose Limestone will be fancied in the betting having won his last two, including an impressive win at Navan.
People are fancying Galiyan too. He looked good when winning at Chester and is open to improvement.
The likes of Del Maro, Asakir and Point Of Law warrant respect as well, but I think my fella will go well.
Race 3: G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes (3.40)
CAROLINA JETSTREAM was second at the Curragh the last day and should be nicely drawn coming out of stall two over this distance on the round course.
She’s definitely got to improve a little bit, but hopefully we can bounce out, make our own luck, and give it a good go.

Race 4: G1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes (4.20)
MINNIE HAUK might be a bit overlooked in the Prince of Wales's Stakes. She had a great year last year — she won the Oaks, the Irish Oaks, the Yorkshire Oaks, and then she was second in the Arc.
She came back this year and won on her first start at the Curragh, and then she was slightly disappointing in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. It was a funny sort of race, and she probably wasn't best placed on the day. I think she'll step forward.
It's going to be a very good renewal of the race, with the likes of Daryz and Ombudsman in here as well, but if my girl is at her best, she's got every chance. She was only a neck behind Daryz in the Arc.
Race 5: Royal Hunt Cup (5.00)
The Royal Hunt Cup is a lottery, and I don’t know too much about my ride, ERZINDJAN
It’s my first ever ride for the trainer, Terry Kent, who’s doing well with what he’s got.
This horse won a good handicap at Newmarket and has some decent back form when based over in Meydan, though that’s quite hard to translate.
Toby [Moore, Ryan’s son] also rides in the race which will be a first for us. I think his, Excellent Believe, has a nice chance and I wouldn’t be surprised if he finished ahead of me. His form looks solid.
Race 6: Kensington Palace Stakes (5.35)
RADIANT BEAUTY is coming into the Kensington Palace off the back of a win, so that’s encouraging.
I don’t know too much about her, but James [Owen] is a good trainer, and it would be nice for him to get a first Royal Ascot winner.
Race 7: Listed Windsor Castle Stakes (6.10)
SERGEI DIAGHILEV won a nice maiden at the Curragh, though they went steady and it wasn’t a proper test.
He’ll probably be quite a short price in comparison to the size and potential of the field, but he’s got a nice profile, and I think he’ll acquit himself well.
Controlla, for Amo Racing, could be the one to beat. She got very close to Victorious in the Group Three at Naas and looks a nice filly.
