Sovereign Debt will have his first start for Ruth Carr in the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday week.
The popular grey was moved to Carr on the retirement of David Nicholls, with the aim to get him qualified for All-Weather Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday.
The eight-year-old was last seen winning in Qatar on February 24, when Nicholls' final runner as trainer.
"He'll go to Kempton a week on Saturday because he needs another run to get qualified for Good Friday," said Carr.
"That race is over 10 furlongs, which will be stretching him a little bit, but we're running out of options with him.
"His big aim early on is the final of the Mile (at Lingfield), which he nearly won last year.
"He's been a great horse for David, who did an amazing job with him.
"I'm excited to get a horse like him and if we can do half as good a job then we'll be doing all right."
Sovereign Debt was beaten half a length by Captain Joy in the final of the All-Weather Mile Championships at Lingfield last season.
