The Rabbah Bloodstock team head to Royal Ascot with a strong hand, headlined by Jaber Abdullah’s classy filly America Queen.
Former Classic-winning jockey Philip Robinson is Racing Manager of Rabbah Bloodstock, a group of multiple owners based out of Dalham Hall Stud on the outskirts of Newmarket, and discusses the team’s leading hopes for this week.
America Queen (Jersey Stakes)
Jaber Abdullah-owned America Queen had strong juvenile form, including when fourth behind True Love in the Cheveley Park Stakes. Having been withdrawn from the Irish 1000 Guineas on vet’s advice, she appears to be primed for her return.
Robinson said: “She has been in good form and everything should suit her here, we are very hopeful. Richard [Hughes] has said he thinks the seven furlongs will suit her well and that this is the right race for her.”
Bint Archange (Queen Mary)
Bint Archange was highly impressive when claiming her first victory at Ascot last month. She is 25-1 for the Quen Mary.
Robinson said: “This has always been the plan for her. We are very pleased with her and all reports I’ve had on her are very positive. She’s going very well.”
Eternal Force (Royal Hunt Cup)
Eternal Force would be a popular winner of the Royal Hunt Cup, being bred by the Rabbah team and owned by member Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum.
The Dubawi colt arrives at Ascot in good form, having been beaten a nose at Hamilton last time out.
“He was a bit unlucky to be beaten at Hamilton in what was a decent race, Robinson said. “There was no pace on but he finished his race well. The big field will suit him and he is guaranteed to get a nice gallop throughout.
“He was a massively improved horse though last season and won three on the bounce. He wasn’t quite ready for the Lincoln but came out of it improved and he could well be the sort of horse for this race.
“I think he will run very well. He can get a good gallop and come home strong, he won’t be far away.”
Excellent Believe (Royal Hunt Cup)
Jaber Abdullah will be hoping Excellent Believe can come on from his first two runs of the season in the Royal Hunt Cup, for which he is a 33-1 chance.
He was not disgraced on eitger occasion, finishing third in two Listed contests including when behind Docklands in the Doncaster Mile.
“He wasn’t quite right at Doncaster. He hadn’t yet come into his coat and just wasn’t completely there. We ran him as he’d been working O, but he was just not fully ready,” Robinson said.
“We then sent him to Leopardstown. Tom Marquand rode him and told us he did not like the track. He didn’t like going round a left-handed bend, and Tom said he’d be best coming back over a straight mile, so this should suit him.
“Jack [Channon] has said that the horse has suddenly come into himself and he is very happy with him. He should run a big race. The Royal Hunt Cup should be a good race for us.”
Timeforshowcasing (Coronation Stakes)
Timeforshowcasing makes her return to home turf in the Coronation Stakes after winning the German 1000 Guineas in Dusseldorf last month.
Robinson said: “She will obviously be an outsider and she will need to up her game. She won the German 1000 Guineas last time out, but this is a big step up.”
“She is in great form though and that win should give her plenty of confidence.”
