Ross Millar shares his three best bets at Haydock and Cartmel, with every race and all the analysis live on Racing TV.
2.58 Haydock: Venetian Sun
Was a high-class juvenile last season when her only defeat came in the seven-furlong Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes.
I wasn't convinced that distance suited her, and that opinion was hardened when she weakened late on in the 1000 Guineas on her seasonal return.
She returns to six furlongs here where I expect her strong travelling nature and confirmed stamina at the trip to see her home.
3.55 Cartmel: Loughderg Rocco
He showed some really strong form in two chase starts for Laura Morgan before being sidelined for a mammoth 1,151 days.
He returned at Kempton in the care of Olly Murphy and showed very little, but there were better signs last time at Ffos Las before he weakened in the soft ground.
He arrives here 9lb lower in the handicap than at Kempton, and with cheek-pieces applied off the back of wind surgery.
If he retains a good portion of his old ability, he should go close.
4.30 Cartmel: Halfway House Lad
Appeared rejuvenated by the switch to Jimmy Moffat from the retired Maurice Barnes when winning cosily on his stable debut at Hexham.
This 8lb higher mark will ask more, but he's open to further improvement and is a horse that historically puts a sequence of good runs together.
The fact that his trainer and jockey do so well at this venue increases confidence.
