Robbie Power faces up to six weeks on the sidelines after rupturing a disc in his back.Power did the damage aboard the unplaced Canadian Steel in the opening maiden hurdle at Gowran on Thursday, after which he gave up his two other rides on the card.He is expected to be back in action before the Cheltenham Festival, but it means he will miss the ride on Sizing John in Stan James Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown on February 12."He had a bit of back pain before racing on Thursday but he was perfectly fit to ride," said Dr Adrian McGoldrick, the Irish Turf Club's senior medical officer."However, he hurt his back during racing and popped a disc, which is very unusual, and he had it scanned."It's a case of rest and he'll be off to see a back specialist next week, so we will just have to wait and see how it settles."He'll be off for six weeks or perhaps be back sooner, so we should have him right for Cheltenham, all being well."
