Red Rum and company feature as equine superheroes

The thrilling deeds of Britain’s greatest racehorses have entranced generations – and are about to come to life all over again, in superhero comic-book form.

In Grand National week, The Jockey Club has published ‘Magnificent Racehorses’ which, over 24 pages, charts the feats of 10 super-equine athletes for the ages.

Red Rum’s three Grand Nationals, Frankel’s unbeaten domination for three successive seasons and Kauto Star’s astounding versatility over various distances at the top level are all celebrated.

Altior – who equalled the record for number of successive victories over jumps at the Cheltenham Festival last month – also gets the special treatment.

Millions have wondered at the collective brilliance and bravery on the track – now is their chance to decide whether fantasy can compete with reality.
