Peter out to pick up Supreme Trial success at Musselburgh

Peter The Mayo Man bids to continue his fantastic season in the Sky Bet Supreme Scottish Trial Novices' Hurdle at Musselburgh on Sunday.The son of Dylan Thomas was snapped up for £120,000 after winning an Irish bumper a couple of years ago, but his first couple of starts over jumps for Neil Mulholland were a shade disappointing.However, he has really got his act together since returning from a summer break, winning at Worcester, Warwick and Newbury and he makes his first start since completing his hat-trick in November in Scotland this weekend. Mulholland said: "He's a nice horse and is coming back from a break. "He's going there fresh and well, hopefully he'll run a nice and we'll learn a bit more abut him."Peter The Mayo Man concedes weight to each of his five rivals, which include Paul Nicholls' recent Taunton scorer High Secret and the Nicky Henderson-trained Lough Derg Spirit.It could be a big day for Mulholland, with the Somerset handler also represented in the totepool Scottish Champion Chase and the Albert Bartlett Scottish Trial Novices' Hurdle.Baltimore Rock bids to get his season back on track in the former contest after pulling up in the Dan Moore Memorial Chase at Fairyhouse three weeks ago, while Soupy Soups reverts to novice company in the Albert Bartlett Scottish Trial following handicap victories at Wincanton and Fakenham. "Baltimore Rock was very disappointing in Ireland. The ground was pretty soft and heavy that day and he could never get out of it.," said Mulholland. "He was running a good race in Ludlow the time before when he got hampered and I'm hoping he'll make his presence felt on Sunday. "Soupy Soups is in good form. He has a couple to beat but he should run a nice race." Sam Twiston-Davies expects Frodon to show his true colours in the totepool Scottish Future Champions Novices' Chase. The Nicholls-trained five-year-old has won four times over fences, including a lucrative handicap success at Cheltenham in December. He was well-beaten when falling at the final fence in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, but Twiston-Davies feels his mount has benefited from a subsequent break. "Frodon is only a five-year-old and had a lot of racing in a short space of time," the jockey told At The Races. "We felt he was very fresh at home, but you don't really find out until you go to the races and he just rode a bit tired (at Kempton)."He's had a little break since and is back in tremendous form."Last year's winner Cup Final makes his first appearance since the Punchestown Festival last spring in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle.
