Page Fuller's RaceiQ hints and tips for York on Saturday

The final day of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival at York features the City Of York Stakes today (3.00), which has been upgraded to a Group One.
It features a top-class performer, too, in Rosallion. He’s become a bit of a bridesmaid this season, but I’m excited about his prospects this afternoon and expect him to silence his doubters.
He’s a quality miler but the drop to seven furlongs in this company should be within his capabilities.
Rosallion has demonstrated over the past two seasons that he is a proper speed horse and has been tactically caught out over a mile this season.
When he won the Irish 2000 Guineas and St James’ Palace last season, he did so by demonstrating an electric turn of foot.
Both times he clocked faster Top Speeds than any of his rivals, quickening up to record them in the penultimate furlong. His Top Speed of 41.8 mph at the Curragh was particularly eye catching.
Steadily run affairs this season have been against him. Despite clocking one of the top three quickest Top Speeds in each of his races, he has always been tasked with passing horses who were also quickening.
This was especially the case in the Sussex Stakes last time, where, despite putting in one of the best finishing displays we have seen at Goodwood, he simply had too much work to do.
He hit a Top Speed of 42.45mph and completed the final two furlongs in a rapid 21.90 seconds.
Of 2,689 horses we have stored in the database, only one horse - Miss Attitude when running over 5f last summer - has been faster through the final two furlongs at the Sussex course.
So, what does this tell us? He was unlucky in defeat last time and has the speed for 7f. He will be difficult to beat.

Strike Point to make mark

Elsewhere on the card, the Stewards’ Cup runner up, Strike Point, is fancied to land the Constantine Handicap (4.10), it’s
Strike point finished second to Elmonjed in this race last year and is in his element at York, having finished in the top two in half of his six races over this course and distance.
In addition, he has been beaten no more than two and a half lengths in his past three starts off a similar mark.
Traditionally, the high stalls are not so favourable over sprint distances at York, but the ground has been riding a lot quicker this week on the stands’ rail, so the track bias should land in his favour today, being drawn in stall 20.
Billy Garritty also has a brilliant record at York, boasting an Actual vs Expected value of 2.1. This means that he has ridden twice as many winners as the odds have expected him to and shows that he is a jockey to keep on side when he is in action on the Knavesmire.
