My Manekineko set to take Leopardstown plunge

My Manekineko is in line for a tilt at the valuable Coral.ie Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday week.The eight-year-old, who has been on the go since last summer, ran an excellent race on his latest appearance to finish a close second to County Hurdle winner and Champion Hurdle aspirant Superb Story in a valuable event at Musselburgh.Trainer James Nash is pleased with how his charge has recovered from those New Year's Day exertions and is keen to let him have a crack at next weekend's 1000,000 euro contest, providing conditions are not too testing.Nash said: "It looks like a very strong race, but the plan is to go for it."I was very happy with his run in Musselburgh and he has a lovely racing weight in a race that is worth so much money."The only thing is he wouldn't run if the word heavy appeared in the ground description."He's come out of the race the last day very well."
