Perfect Pasture struck for the first time since scoring at Windsor in May with a battling success in the 22-runner Racing Post/SIS Betting Shop Manager Handicap at Doncaster.
Ridden for the first time by David Allan, the seven-year-old was always prominent in the six-furlong dash and galloped on resolutely to take the prize by a neck from Flying Pursuit, with Naadirr another neck away in third. The 28-1 winner's stablemate Hoof It was fourth.
"He's been a great servant for the yard. Everything transformed when we worked him at home in a pair of visors," said trainer Mick Easterby's son and assistant, David.
"He went from being rated 57 to winning five races and now winning this class two handicap. He's also won a Listed race this year and he also won a 100 grand race last year at the Curragh."
There was a sting in the tail for Allan as he was banned for four days for using his whip above the permitted level.
Breath Caught (evens favourite) blew the opposition away in the final furlong to make it third-time lucky in division one of the Bet £10 Get £20 At 188Bet EBF Maiden Stakes.
Ryan Moore sent him into the lead from the start and Ralph Beckett's colt asserted in the closing stages to win as he liked by three and three-quarter lengths from Flavius Titus.
"Things didn't go quite his way at Chepstow and then he ran a good race at Sandown," said Moore.
"I'd say the ground was slow enough for him, the race went smooth for him and he was impressive the way he went about it."
Moore doubled up on Amplification (7-4 favourite) in division two, but it was a close-run thing with Ed Dunlop's charge winning on the nod by a nose from Epic Fantasy.
"We got him from the breeze-up sales here at Doncaster. Some breeze-up horses you crack on with, but this horse looked like he needed a bit of time, which we gave him," Dunlop told At The Races.
"We were pleased with his first run. He was third and Ryan was on the fourth. He rang his agent and told him to get on ours next time if he could.
"I have to admit I didn't think we'd won, so it's pleasing. We'll put him away now and bring him back next year."
Miss Sippy (2-1 favourite) put up an eyecatching display when getting off the mark at the second attempt in the Racing Post Trophy Betting At 188Bet EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
The David Simcock-trained youngster reaped the benefit of a promising debut effort at Kempton two weeks previously as she was brought with a telling run by Jamie Spencer to score by a length and a quarter from Marco Botti's newcomer Ficanas.
"I'm pleased to win with her at two. We weren't disappointed at Kempton. She ran a nice race, but just got in an awkward position. She made some good ground up there, but flattened out in the last furlong whereas today she was far more professional," Simcock said.
"She's quite nice and in a better race she'll become a better filly. Jamie said that ground was soft enough for her.
"She should get a mile and a quarter, no problem."
Harry Fry's dual-purpose performer Golden Birthday (11-8 favourite) took his unbeaten record on the Flat to three with a comfortable triumph in the Free Bets At 188Bet Casino Handicap under a confident ride by Fran Berry.
The Roger Varian-trained Ajman King (13-8 favourite) justified strong support with an impressive victory in the ROA/Racing Post Owners Jackpot Handicap under Andrea Atzeni.
Mark Johnston's Ventura Knight (20-1) withstood all challenges to make all for P J McDonald in the Owlerton Greyhound Stadium Nursery Handicap and score by a short head from Regimented and Che Bella, who dead-heated for second place.
